Excessive Underarm Sweat

Sweating is a natural mechanism of the body to regulate its temperature. It also provides lubrication where moving parts rub against each other while discharging some wastes too. The underarms are prominent areas where sweating takes place. People are often self-conscious about underarm sweat as it is conspicuous but that’s really just cosmetic. The possible causes of primary excessive underarm sweat are faulty diet, emotion, stress, poor fitness level, environment and heredity. Secondary excessive underarm sweat is the result of another underlying medical condition such as diabetes, thyroid and so forth. For this type of excessive underarm sweat, it will return to normal levels once the medical problem has been cured.

Excessive Underarm Sweat is actually a medical condition in itself. Although it is never directly life-threatening, treatment is necessary. It will not go away on its own and will in fact worsen with time. The side effects of excessive underarm sweat can be more serious than the problem itself. For many afflicted with the disorder, life becomes a daily struggle. Depending on the severity of the problem, there are various treatment methods available for excessive underarm sweat ranging from antiperspirants to surgery. It goes without saying that they are effective in different ways, at different prices and most importantly, has different side-effects. 

Millions of Americans suffer from excessive underarm sweat to some degree. Those whose problem is less severe may not even be aware of it.
